The Master of Science in Finance program is intended to provide an opportunity to students to have a well-rounded understanding of finance. ˅ More Details Master of Science in Finance/Master of Science in International Real Estate Joint Degree Pathway MSF students who have taken 12 credits of MSIRE core finance courses may obtain an MSIRE degree with only an additional 18 credits. Thus, MSIRE students who have taken nine credits of MSF fast track common courses may obtain an MSF degree with only an additional 18 credits. Without the joint degree pathway students will need to take 66 credit hours to get both degrees. With the joint degree pathway students will take a total of up to 57 credit hours to get both degrees. Directors of the MSIRE and MSF degree programs may adjust these exact course requirements as a result of future changes to the MSIRE or MSF curriculums. MSF courses transferred to meet MSIRE elective credit must be approved by the University Curriculum Committee. Courses transferred between degrees must be completed with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The two degrees will have 3 common courses. To obtain the MSIRE degree, the student will have to fulfill all the MSIRE program requirements. Four of the nine MSF courses will be used to satisfy part of the elective requirements of the MSIRE program. This includes the three finance courses in the MSIRE program, plus nine finance courses from the MSF fast track program, for a total of 33 credit hours. To obtain the MSF degree, the student will be required to take eleven (12) finance courses. The joint degree pathway uses existing faculty, courses, and resources.Ĭandidates must satisfy all requirements for each degree. Under the joint degree pathway, a student can obtain both degrees in significantly less time than it would take to obtain both degrees if pursued consecutively. Students interested in TRIP and CBP must contact an academic advisor within the Department of Finance. Each track is responsible for setting its own admission criteria. Students interested in seeking admission to the MFM must first chose one of the three academic tracks (TRIP, CBP, PPA) and then contact the office that manages that particular track for additional information. In turn, each of these three high-impact programs represent one of three possible academic tracks within the MFM. Currently, only students admitted to one of the following three programs qualify for admission to the MFM: (i) the Trading, Risk and Investments Program (TRIP), (ii) the Commercial Banking Program (CBP), and (iii) the Professional Program in Accounting (PPA). ![]() The designation of a high-impact learning program is made periodically by the Dean of Mays Business School. This degree is open only to students who have been admitted to a high-impact learning program at Mays Business School.
